The Warwick Reno: A Chic Entryway

August 24, 2016

One of my favorite spots to decorate in a home is the entryway. This often overlooked space has tons of potential, and even if it’s tiny (like mine), it sets the tone for your home! I wrote a post last year with some fun entryway styling ideas. This time around, I’m focusing on how to pack a chic punch, into our little vestibule here at the new house.

Here’s a before picture. I bet you’re thinking, how the heck can you make that tiny entry cool? Do you see that little mail slot on the left? It’s so quirky, I kind of love it. And the arched door is nice, but needs some help to make it feel more modern.

I actually really liked the original vintage style black and white tile, and I thought painting the door black was the right way to go, so the design really took shape from there. Here’s some of the inspiration I gathered:

Why doesn’t my door come with these flowers? Is this even real?!

This lantern is gold inside, and I think it’s going to cast an amazing glow and shadows in the little entry. From Jayson Home & Garden.

Relativity Textiles Peacock Wallpaper! I’m not the only designer that likes it with black. The metallic gold detail is awesome and subtle.

Gotta check your hair and lipstick on the way out the door. The Upton Mirror is so chic, you can find it at Anthropolgie Home.

We’re not quite finished with the update yet, but wallpaper has been installed! Here’s a little happy wallpaper selfie:

Note how my outfit black and gold, coordinate with the design, not really planned but good photo op excuse.

What do you think? Is black and gold for you, or is it a little much? How would you update your entry? Start gathering some inspiration photos and you’re on your way to welcoming guests in style!
