Lead Designer
Centered By Design is always looking for talent to join our team! CBD offers a flexible work environment, autonomy, and no limit to what you can achieve. This full-time position is based in Glencoe, but allows flexibility to work from home every Friday. Light travel is also required.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Managing multiple high-end residential client projects (5-8) at different phases, shepherding the client from design development through to completion of construction and final installation
- Managing ongoing project deliverables for clients, contractors, architects, and builders
- Manage junior designers or project managers, and procurement team
- Finish and fixtures selections and specifications for high-end kitchen and bath remodeling projects, as well as full furnishing design
- Develop technical drawings, design boards and other visual communication techniques to communicate and sell an overall design concept
- Keen ability to get clients to trust you and make decisions and move the project forward with success and client satisfaction in mind
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Develop construction documents, elevation drawings, millwork drawings, plumbing and electrical schematics, details, schedules and specs
- Project management and administration throughout construction
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 5 years experience in the residential interior design field, including being lead on projects
- AutoCad expert with multiple years of experience designing kitchens and cabinetry
- Experience managing and collaborating colleagues
- Knowledge of finishes, fixtures, materials and specifications and ability to meet independently with clients to discuss pricing, selections, and drawings
- Strong familiarity with residential design standards and construction processes
- Impeccable visual, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work self-sufficiently and think independently
- Organized, thorough and conscientious
