Assistant Designer

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Managing multiple client projects at different phases, shepherding the client from design development through to completion of construction/installation
- Managing ongoing project deliverables for clients and contractors
- Finish and fixtures selections and specifications for furnishings projects as well as high-end kitchen and bath remodeling projects
- Develop design boards and other visual communication techniques to communicate an overall design concept and finish and fixture selections
- Ability to get clients to make decisions and move the project forward in a reasonable timeline
- Manage project budgets and timelines
- Develop construction documents, elevation drawings, millwork drawings, plumbing and electrical schematics, details, schedules and specs
- Project management and administration throughout construction
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the residential interior design field
- AutoCad Proficient
- Knowledge of finishes, fixtures, materials and specifications and ability to meet independently with clients to discuss pricing, selections, and drawings
- Familiarity with residential design standards and construction processes
- Excellent visual, oral, and written communication skills
- Ability to work self-sufficiently and think independently
- Strong sense of personal style and aesthetic
Architectural Design Intern / Assistant
This is a part-time role for someone with excellent organizational skills, a working knowledge of interior design firms and an affinity for multi-tasking. This position will have freedom and creativity, and focus on supporting our lead designers with their project load. This role is excellent for college students or those transitioning to a new career. For the architectural role, excellent hand sketching or fluency in AutoCad is a must.
- Support Lead Designer with furniture sourcing & material selection
- Assist in ideation for client projects
- Create client proposals in IVY (project management software)
- Assist in creating design boards
- Maintain design library
- Assist on installations / photo shoots
- AutoCAD and/or SketchUp drafting
- Photoshop/ Adobe suite for design boards / renderings
- Site visits

- Assist with FFE schedules and receiver communications
Design Assistance
- Errands and shopping as assigned
Project Management Assistance
