The Warwick Reno: KITCHEN REVEAL

January 24, 2017

Woohoo!! The big moment has finally arrived. It’s our classic black and white kitchen reveal!

Remember the before photos and the DESIGN PLAN?

Before. What can I say, there are many issues here. Linoleum floor, sagging counter top, stove has to be plugged in with an extension cord!

We’ve actually had most photos of the kitchen under wraps until our feature with Domino Mag online came out, and it finally posted last week! I share my top 10 tips for renovating a vintage kitchen, and many of the tips apply to kitchen design in general. Definitely give it a read if you’re considering renovating, or buying an older home. Here are some more before and after shots (a few of the before photos are from before we moved in). Oh my, I’m so glad we powered through and renovated over the summer! Life changes for the better with a beautiful and functional kitchen. I swear I actually want to bake : )

Before. Massive fridge was eating up floor space, entry was framed, but no door and felt really tight. Random set of cabinets did not function well, and were too tight to entry.

After. Not exact same view, but we were able to widen the entry and create a nice focal point with stove, hood and tile backsplash.

We took everything off the wall which originally had the fridge, and added a vintage cabinet for storage and charm.

Covering over the existing window was necessary to make our floor plan work. I hated to loose the light, but it had to go.

We added a moveable island to help increase counter top space, which is at a premium.

And here are some of the pretty details.

You can read more details about the renovation and see my design tips over at DOMINO.COM

Thanks to Carolina Mariana for the photography, and Elise Metzger for prop and styling help!

And thanks for following along – this kitchen was so much fun to makeover and we are very pleased with the results!
