Let’s Talk Farrow & Ball’s New Colors!

March 10, 2025

Just this week, our team was talking about how we are all drawn to moody mid-tone pastels right now, and hours later, Farrow & Ball released twelve new colors we are ready to sink our teeth into! It’s no secret that we aren’t afraid of using color in our designs. As a firm, we’ve been thinking more about our Centered by Design signature color palette. We often gravitate towards colors that have a softness and a richness. Nothing that is too bright or punchy. Colors that you would see somewhere in the natural world. We use color to balance feminine and masculine elements in our projects and to highlight architectural details like millwork. Don’t underestimate a coat of paint!

Farrow & Ball is a long-time favorite brand around here. These new colors are exactly what we’ve been craving in our interiors: they feel like a warm hug, a room you could spend all afternoon daydreaming in. Rooms with personality!! Long gone are the days of sterile grey and white interiors, and we couldn’t be happier about it!

All work by Centered by Design.

We have loved introducing a similar palette in our recent projects! More to come…

Color drenching is a designer technique when the entire room is painted from top to bottom in the same color including the trim and doors. It can also include the ceiling, fully drenching the room in color. You’ll notice we have been loving the impact it makes with these beautiful, livable colors.

Discover Farrow & Ball’s New Colors

Glancing through the new colors, we are excited about the fresh takes on well-loved colors and are already pulling them for new schemes!

SCALLOP: This muddy pale blush tone almost feels like a softer desaturated version of Dead Salmon (a CBD favorite!). We love that it has pink undertones in it but is digestible in a common space to not feel overly feminine. We have a feeling that we will start seeing this used as a designer staple.

Where we want to use it: Scallop would be perfect in a light filled breakfast room.

DIBBER: This is the perfect olive…like a good pair of jeans, it can go with anything. Earthy greens, sign us up!
Where we want to use it: We are envisioning Dibber in an epic butler’s pantry or accent trim in an entry.

REDUCED GREEN: This grounding neutral can read brown or green depending on the space and lighting. We are always looking for more interesting neutral options.
Where we want to use it: The millwork of a banquette paired with a bold patterned fabric.

SIZING: This crisp light blue will brighten a small space and provide just enough color to give a rich saturated effect we crave.
Where we want to use it: Sizing could be perfect in a primary bath to complement a standout stone or tile moment.

NAPERON: Colors like Naperon are why we love Farrow & Ball so much! It can be hard to find the right hue and this straddles the line of clay and peach perfectly.
Where we want to use it: I’d love to see this in a cozy mudroom highlighting a wall of millwork.

MARMELO: A comforting orange hue that wraps you in a hug.
Where we want to use it: We’d love to see this as accent trim with a nature inspired wallpaper.

KAKELUGNDescribed as a cleaner interpretation of Farrow & Balls’s Light Blue, we are excited to try this!
Where we want to use it: We love these light blue tones in laundry rooms or kid’s spaces

DOUTERA green interpretation of Farrow & Ball’s Inchyra Blue. Green is definitely having a moment and we will be shocked if this doesn’t become an industry favorite!
Where we want to use it: Already envisioning using this to color drench our next snug room.

DUSTER: A muted sophisticated mustard with green undertones. We love how Duster represents everything we’re seeing in the design scene – rich tonal hues that create a sense of etherealism.

Where we want to use it: A room with natural light to amplify it. Soft pastel tones like these often sing in the sun.

ETRUSCAN RED: This earthy red speaks to us! While we aren’t ones to use “red” often, we love the richness it gives a space. It makes sense this one is being pulled out from the Farrow & Ball archive!
Where we want to use it: We love a bold kitchen accent color like the  kitchen island in our “East Coast Meets West Coast” project

BROCCOLI BROWN: Another complex neutral that needs to earmarked in our Farrow & Ball book!
Where we want to use it: I’d love to see this as an exterior door color. It works so well with natural materials and could look stunning with against a stone or wood walkway.

SAP GREEN: Ending the collection with a punch! This brighter olive green makes a statement and we love it.
Where we want to use it: A window filled sun room, trellis in a potting room or even laundry room cabinetry.

We’d love to hear which you are most excited about. Follow along on Instagram to see how we start to introduce these colors into upcoming design schemes!
