If you look up the most popular interior colors after neutrals, blues and greens are consistently at the top of the list. Each season we see different nuances of blues, greens and everything in between. One color we are loving right now is a deep, but less saturated teal we like to call Lagoon. Sherwin Williams calls a similar hue Oceanside, and named it color of the year for 2018. Here’s lots of inspiration for decorating with teal!
Whether you call it teal, lagoon or oceanside it is a big impact color! When it’s deeper with more black pigment, I love it for an all over wall color. Brighter versions of teal with more white pop as accents. Overall, this color is perfect for cozy bedroom walls, tile, upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets or even a bold front door. Decorating with teal is very versatile.
This rich and inky palette looks great with bright white, mustard or millennial pink. In response to the overwhelmingly white and bright interiors we’ve seen all over social media, we welcome this deep hue in the home. I’ve used it as an accent color in countless projects because it’s really versatile and gives depth to spaces with white walls.
Velvet is also huge right now and looks so good upholstered in a deep color such as teal. The navy velvet sofa was everywhere in 2017 and it continues to be popular, but I think we will be seeing a lot more of this color in upholstery as we move into 2018.
Here are a few fun home decor items and accessories we love in TEAL. Also, the pillow is linked to my FAVORITE etsy shop EVER for designer pillows (you’re welcome!). Have fun decorating with teal!
