Benjamin Moore, my personal go-to paint company, just announced Metropolitan AF-690 as color of the year 2019. I usually don’t pay a whole lot of attention to these “so called” colors of the year, but our dining room happens to be Metropolitan! I thought it would be helpful to show some views of the dining room, and link back to a post from last year with my favorite gray paint colors.

Because let’s be real, while a lot of us are sick of gray…it is safe and versatile and plays well with other neutrals and a variety of colors. Here’s a quick look at some of my favorites:

In the dining room, I paired Metropolitan with blush, whites and wood tones. I used black accents too keep the room from feeling too feminine or sweet.

What do you think? Are you still loving gray or ready for something else!? I do agree when done the right way a gray like Metropolitan can feel layered, restful and calming. I’m still happy with the living room almost three years later!
